PRN Registered Nurse – Operating Room

Stewart Memorial Community Hospital – Lake City

We are seeking a nurse with a positive attitude, passion for healthcare, and a commitment to "community" to join our healthcare team.

• Typical hours 5 am to 2 pm or 6 am to 3 pm Monday- Friday

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As an OR nurse, you will provide the nursing care our patients receive before, during and after surgery. Our patients will count on you to communicate and advocate on behalf of their physical and emotional well-being to their family, other staff and physicians. Our patients are diverse in their needs and you will see patients of all ages from neonatal to geriatric populations.

Other responsibilities include:

• Direct or perform the functions and activities in the ambulatory surgery area following evidence-based policies, procedures and standards.
• Primary duties include admitting and discharge of patients, prepping patient charts for surgery, assisting anesthesia services with blocks, and making phone calls to patients and providers as needed.
• Communicate pertinent information to other staff, Anesthesia and Surgeons.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Current Iowa Registered Nurse License
• Current ACLS and PALS certification or eligible to obtain
• Good IV skills and Heart Rhythm interpretation preferred.

Qualifications

30-32hrs per week

Typical hours 6:30am to 3pm Monday/Tuesday/Thursday. Remaining hours divided between Wednesday & Friday depending on weekly surgery schedule.

Call: 1 day per week, every 3^rd weekend with ability to take PRN call as needed, 1 holiday a year
